New anti-bullying feature & Cash App scams

  • "Restricting" instead of "Blocking":

As bullying is a widespread issue on Instagram, many users wanted to reduce or, at least, decrease it. So that the Head of this social media platform, Adam Mosser, has decided to fix it. The newest feature is called "Restrict".

“On the issue of bullying, we want to be generative. We want to think about new and interesting ways to address the issue.” - said Mosser.

As teenagers did not want to block their friends, peers, but also having negative comments under their posts was not related to their goals, they asked Mosseri for help. If you restrict a user, his/her comments will need your approval to be shown to other followers.

Only you and the bully can see those comments, but unless you choose to release it, no one else can. Moreover, because of the "sensitivity screen" function, even the user himself does not have to read those nasty comments, because it requires his tap, in the other way, it stays hidden in a pending state.

  • Cash App scams:

Giveaway is the sweetest piece of cake for Instagram scammers.

People are always both hands for getting "easy money", so that they start using hashtags like #CashAppFriday and #SuperCashAppFriday in comments on Cash App Instagram page with the hope of being selected and wining money.

Scammers are looking for those who want money by the hashtags, start following them and after all ask them to pay a small "fee", $10, for instance, before getting $500 and, eventually, delete their profiles or block the victim.

Because users are publicly sharing their hashtags, Cash App scammers can easily target them directly.
The usernames vary and may include keywords like “cash,” “payroll,” or “rich” in them.

With the help of those catchy words, fake but realistic proofs of having promised money, they grab people's attention and then scam them. Those users who find Cash App a suitable place of earning money should always remember about the first rule against scams: Never following, providing with a personal information or paying even a small amount of money to the unknown users. People should get in contact only with the official accounts, with the verification mark, that proves the reliability of the platform.
