Other Issues in Media and Society

Updated: Dec 10, 2020

Something that grabbed my attention and, hopefully, will do the same with you...

TOP 5 blogs, according to Me:

There are way more issues connected to media and its influence on the society. I found 5 other interesting blogs upon different topics, that may be interesting for you as much as they were for me.lso, it is never superfluous to know something new and broaden your horizons.

  1. Media Overuse: Media overuse is a global issue in the modern society. People regularly spend hours on surfing the Internet, liking, commenting, posting pictures on Instagram, twitting and so on. In his blog, Kyrylo Takoiev describes the issues that overusing of media can cause to the mental, physical health, self-esteem of the person. He also provided his own and experts' opinions upon the topic, gave examples of what did people do with their accounts because of the addiction to social media. I highly recommend reading this blog. https://mediaoveruse.blogspot.com

  2. Social Media & Body Image: Body image is and important topic discuss. In the world, where "plastic beauty" replaced the natural one, it is so hard to make young teenage girls love themselves by the way they are. Caroline Mikulová describes the issue of body image that is presented on social media in her blog. There you can find great studies of experts, current events, one of which grabbed my attention because of the dedication to Instagram face masks with the effect of plastic surgery. Who is Levi Jed Murph and what did he do with his face to expand his audience? What does Billie Eilish say upon body shaming in social media, what her haters say and how she reacts? This information and way more you can read in Caroline's blog. https://cmsocialmediaandbodyimage.blogspot.com

  3. Self-confidence: Self-confidence is an essential trait of character that a person can have. Believing in yourself and treating yourself as a winner is extremely important. However, with the birth of social media, a low self-esteem and 0 motivation to express yourself has come. Sometimes, by seeing those, who are better in some aspects, people start giving up. Still standing in a shade of someone, but want to be on the pedestal? Go and check out Cristina Canepa's blog "That Self Confidence Blog" and give yourself a portion of motivation! https://thatselfconfidenceblog.wordpress.com

  4. The impact of media on parenting: Parenting is an essential step that everyone goes through and it is important, in my opinion, to talk about it. In her blog, Liliya Sabitova reaises this topic, provides readers with her personal point of view, gives examples of real stories and exprests' opinions. Personally, I cannot understand those parents, who give mobile devices and free access to all social media platforms to their children, because it can be harmful to them to face cyberbullying or violence, pornography and so on. Liliya talks about this and many more issues in her blog, so if you would like to know more about the connection between parenting and social media, go and check out her blog, using the link below! https://xsabitoval.blogspot.com

  5. Social Media Concern: The topic of privacy is urgent and needed to be discussed. Nowadays people have concerns while using different websites and social media platforms, because of being monitored. Have you ever faced a situation, when you are talking to your friend on the phone or leaving a message in the chat in Facebook's Messenger with your desire and then the ad with it appears on your Facebook feed? If you want to know more about concern regarding social media and their tracking system on society, then read Marek Kufa's blog. Interesting and relevant examples, opinions are provided there, so you will not regret reading his posts! https://socialmediaconcern.wordpress.com
